SD Card File Transfer
Get a microSD / SD card reader with the correct port for your device. You can also use microSD card adapters or OTG adapters.
Folder Structure
BOOT partition
This is where dtb files and bootlogos are stored.
EASYROMS partition
This is where all the roms (games), launchimages, themes, backups and background music are stored. For a full list of all rom folders and supported filetypes, please refer to the ArkOS wiki.
If you can't access the EASYROMS partition, you probably need to assign a drive letter in Disk Management. Here's a short video how to do this.
Accessing the SD card on Android
It's also possible to copy over files with an Android device. But be aware that android automatically creates a few empty folders if a SD card is connected. You can use any file manager that you like. Below are a few examples ("TS-RDF5 USB drive" is the microSD card adapter in this case).
USB Flash Drive File Transfer
Connect your Thumb drive (Pen drive, Flash disk, USB drive, Key drive, Memory stick,...) to the OTG port and follow the steps on the ArkOS Wiki or the visual guide below.
- Confirm: A
- Back: B
- Select/Menu: Y
- Select multiple Files: X

Enable Remote Services (ArkOS)
You have to enable this every time you restart your R36S.
On PC
ArkOS Browser
Simply enter the R36S IP ADDRESS in your browser (tested on Firefox).
To access both cards, you have to change the folders between /roms or /roms2 in the settings.
Windows Explorer (Samba)
Run (Windows + R) "\\R36S IP ADDRESS" or put it in the Explorer address bar.
MacOS (Samba)
Same method as on windows. The guide on the AmberELEC website has screenshots and detailed instructions: https://amberelec.org/guides/transferring-files#macos-x--samba-easiest
File Manager (SFTP)
You can also connect with a file manager like FileZilla or WinSCP.
On Android Phone
ArkOS Browser
Simply enter the R36S IP ADDRESS in your browser (tested on Firefox).
To access both cards, you have to change the folders between /roms or /roms2 in the settings.
File Manager (SFTP)
Use a file manager of your choice with SFTP support. For example:
-

Open your file manager choice (Cx File Explorer in this case) -

Navigate to Network Connection -

Add your device (SFTP) -

Navigate to the file(s) you want to transfer -

Copy the file(s) -

Navigate back to Network Connection and click on your R36S -
